About Fully Fledged

An intensive, intimate full-length manuscript incubator designed for our senior Fledglings. This is a special course uniquely tailored to each group of students based on the work they bring to the nest.

Fully Fledged is a three-phase process mixing craft lessons, traditional workshopping, and prompt writing sessions.

Come equipped with first 30-50 pages of your project. We’ll spend 5 weeks working on short manuscript reviews and writing together, then 3 weeks learning and drafting, before we reconvene to workshop entire manuscripts (up to 250 pages). Along with 13 sessions, you’ll receive a writing log calendar during Phase Two to keep you accountable and a full individual manuscript review from Sammi and your peers.

  • Phase One, Short Manuscript Reviews - Begins mid-October 2024

  • Phase Two, Lessons - Begins mid-December 2024

    • Writing break - January-May

  • Phase Three, Manuscript Reviews - Begins May 2025

• Time Commitment: 13 sessions (around 9 months)

  • 5 weeks of generative prompt-writing and 1 hour short (up to 50 pages) manuscript reviews

  • 3 weeks of craft lessons, exercises, and a daily prompt calendar

    • after a 6-8 week break, we reconvene to workshop your full manuscript

  • 5 weeks / 2 hours of full manuscript review per student

• Cost: $1625, in three installments

  • $1575 for past Fledglings, $1425 for Flight Behavior alums

*scheduling determined as a group after roster is full, classes will either run weekday evenings 7-9pm or weekend mornings 10-noon EST
